Meet the Doctors

Dr. John E. White was born and raised in Eldorado, Illinois. He attended SIU-C from 1962 to 1966 and then St. Louis University Dental School from 1966 to 1969, when he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. He then spent two years as a Captain in the U.S.A.F. Dental Corps, followed by two years working in private practice in St. Louis. In 1973, he opened the doors at the current location in downtown Columbia, and has remained in private practice ever since. His interests include restorative dentistry, including implants, operative and prosthetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (A.D.A.), Illinois State Dental Society, and the St. Clair District Dental Society.

Dr. Stephen J. Raney was born and raised in Effingham, Illinois. He attended SIU-C from 1974 to 1978, when he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences. He then attended the SIU School of Dental Medicine, from 1980 to 1984, when he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree and joined Dr. White's practice, and the partnership has existed ever since. His interests include restorative dentistry, implant dentistry, and TMJ disorders and treatment. He is a member of the American Dental Association (A.D.A.)., Illinois State Dental Society, and the St. Clair District Dental Society. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Equilibration Society, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Raney is a Clinical Assistant Professor at SIU School of Dental Medicine teaching restorative and implant dentistry.
